Everything is fantastic here, had a very good stay for our visit to the Bluff Oyster Festival. The hotel is in a comfortable and absolutely perfect location on main state highway one.

Reasonably quiet, good off street parking.
Was a wee bit further out of town than I realised - not quite walking distance in the cool of the evening

It has good sized functional rooms, that come with 2 bathrooms so plenty of comfortable space and a spa bath, as example. The staff are helpful and superfriendly and offer wake up calls and ironing free of charge.
Can’t fault the property in any way!

I really apreciate your excellent service and your willingness to help with anything I asked about. This is actually the friendliest managers I have ever encountered and I travel a lot. Thank you very much.
The numbers of the rooms could have been bigger. They were hard to see in the dark. This is not for me, but there was another person, who couldn't see the number in the evening.

Well-appointed, warm, clean and quiet rooms, nice shower and plenty of parking space. Good-sized tv, with cable, internet access is fast, and very friendly, helpful staff. Great place as a "headquarter" to explore the Catlins and Fiordland, in New Zealand.
Easy to get to *by car*. No way one can walk to the place, especially with luggage; public transport is not an option either. Far away from places to eat and supermarket. The "3-minute away" really means "by car", not on foot.

Friendliness off staff
Bathroom beginning to look tired, perhaps minor renovation to be considered.

We Booked the Monarch as we could not get in to the Ascot where we attended a function. The Lady who booked us in was corteous and friendly and the room suited us in every way. We had no complaints
